The context

The niche market for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food (BARF) for animals continues to grow. In 2017, the market recorded a growth of 15% across the Atlantic and is also gradually developing in Europe, particularly in the Nordic countries. Anaïs Bouvet, CEO of Barf Et Attrapes, gives us her feedback on the use of LMB to centralize the management of her store and e-commerce site.

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Anaïs Bouvet, manager of Barf Et Attrapes, and I live in La Seyne-sur-mer. I have a BTS degree in management. Following my studies, I have worked in various sectors, allowing me to gain the experience needed to venture into the field of natural food for domestic carnivores.

In March 2020, I decided to embark on a new project. I therefore completed all the necessary steps to create the Barf Et Attrapes store, which opened in March 2021. I also have a website that is currently being developed and is expected to be launched in June.

As for my business, I sell what is known as BARF, an acronym meaning ‘Biologically Appropriate Raw Food’. We recreate a natural diet for dogs, cats, and ferrets. There are still very few insiders; it’s a niche market that tends to grow mainly through word of mouth. There are quite significant logistical and financial constraints, and the procumrent can be complicated. So, I decided to offer a point of sale exclusively dedicated to BARF.

The challenge

What were your main needs and why did you choose LMB?

I have the particularity of having an e-commerce website that is not a CMS. It is a custom-made site. I wanted my cash register software to be directly connected to my website. So, I started searching on the Internet for software and came across an ERP software comparison site. I was introduced to LMB and it perfectly matched my project and expectations.

So, I subscribed to LMB Essential with the E-commerce Connector. The software meets my expectations because I wanted all my information systems to be interconnected. I wanted to be able to manage my entire store from a single tool, and that’s the case with LMB. The software allows me to access my sales, purchases, stocks, orders, accounting, all in one back-office. In my previous professional experiences, I have tested several types of software, but I had never seen one as comprehensive as LMB.

The solution

What are the benefits of the LMB solution?

The first strong point I would say is the service and especially the versatility of the workforce of LUNDI MATIN because even if it was not their area of expertise, I was in contact with people who were willing to answer my questions or redirect me to the right person. I regularly use the ticket system in the customer area which allows me to ask all my questions. The customer service is really efficient at LUNDI MATIN. I felt understood, my project was well supervised and I was offered the most suitable solution. Moreover, it is a software that comes from a French company and it also represents something very important for me.

The second is interconnectivity and omnichannel. Thus the possibility of interconnecting several profit centers on a single management solution.

The third advantage is the depth of functionality. I did a first overview and I have not yet discovered everything about the solution but I am not disappointed. The tool gives me the ability to do everything I have subscribed to and I am satisfied with it.

How do you see the future?

I think that if I can do my job well, I can expect a nice growth in my turnover. This is difficult to predict because I am in a niche sector, there are very few people who opt for this feed for their animals. On the other hand, it is a growing sector because the French are increasingly paying attention to their well-being but also to what they eat, what they drink and they also transpose it on their animals… The pet becomes a full member of the household and its well-being is a priority for all Barf followers.

One can imagine that if my business grows, I can open several boxes connected to the same LMB.
