Customer since

The customer
In a sector that is difficult to predict and subject to logistical challenges, Cerdys needed a tailor-made solution.
The horticulture and nursery sector is made up of production and distribution units for flowers, potted plants (perennials, aromatic plants, ornamental plants), trees and shrubs, bulbs and seeds, with more than 5,000 horticultural companies spread throughout France and a total turnover of €1.595 billion. Hard hit by the globalisation of markets, this sector must innovate to remain competitive and meet customer expectations. The proliferation of distribution channels is another source of complexity to be mastered in the supply chain: networks of wholesalers, affiliated or independent garden centres, DIY stores, florists, landscapers, direct sales, etc.
The challenge
Meeting the multiple demands of distribution channels
The multiplication of distribution channels added further complexity, and product packaging had become a major challenge in controlling Cerdys’ transport costs. In particular, sales staff could not intuitively choose product packaging.
The solution
Yuto: the unexpected game-changer in the world of horticulture
By studying the order-taking processes of Cerdys field sales staff, the Yuto software has developed key functionalities to simplify and optimise their tasks.
With a single click, sales representatives can select a logistics depot and choose the type of packaging (roll, carton, pallet, etc.) for delivery. Once these selections have been made, product information is updated automatically.
As orders are placed, the sales assistant can see in real time how full the rolls are on the sales interface, enabling him or her to optimise transport costs.
Whatever the medium used (barcode scan, direct reference, catalogue, price list), order management is made easy and intuitive.
The results
How a digital strategy transformed Cerdys
The company’s brand image has improved, both internally and externally, and customer satisfaction has increased thanks to a reduction in shipping times and costs. Order and logistics errors have been reduced, resulting in increased productivity and a significant reduction in operating costs.
The tool, which is easy to use and compatible with Android and iOS tablets and smartphones, is now a firm favourite with our teams.
