Galeries Lafayette modernize their checkout system
Galeries Lafayette has innovated by becoming one of the first major retailers to adopt a next-generation checkout solution based on the Android operating system.

A unique solution for both fixed and mobile checkouts
LM Retail is the single checkout solution adopted by Galeries Lafayette, for both fixed and mobile checkouts. Sales associates can now accompany, serve, and process payments directly with customers in the store.
Challenges
Offering an omnichannel experience
Following a successful deployment in 2021 within the flagship Parisian department stores Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and BHV Marais, the rollout continues across the group’s stores, present in France, Luxembourg, and Germany.
Galeries Lafayette is refocusing the customer experience around omnichannel.
To better retain its clientele, payment for orders and reservations can be initiated or completed in-store.

Why LM Retail
LM Retail is complemented by a Self Check-out module. The customer builds their basket, identifies themselves, and pays autonomously.
The solution also integrates a powerful offer engine capable of supporting the full diversity and finesse of the Galeries Lafayette group’s marketing animation program.
The offer engine enables customers to benefit from personalized promotional offers based on very specific criteria. It generates additional sales and contributes to customer loyalty.

Progressive deployment, initially alongside the group’s historical cash register system, in order to manage the risks inherent in such a project, and now as the group’s sole checkout system.
