Created in 2007 in Montpellier and employing 53 employees in France, the company opened its first European subsidiary in September in Barcelona.
Montpellier, June 11, 2021
With growth of more than 35% over the 2019 and 2020 financial years, the LUNDI MATIN Group wishes to accelerate its development by opening a first subsidiary in Spain. Publisher of LMB (commercial management software in SaaS mode), RoverCash and AirKitchen (omnichannel touchscreen checkouts for merchants and restaurateurs) and Wysifood (Click & Collect and Click & Delivery solution for bars and restaurants), the company has a complete software suite that meets the new needs of businesses, and allows adaptation to new purchasing paths such as Click & Collect, Order in Store or even Ship from Store.
Historically dedicated to VSEs and SMEs, the Group’s software is now also used by major accounts (Galeries Lafayette, Décathlon), fast-growing retail networks (CWF, Draeger) and professional sports clubs (Stade Français Paris , AC Ajaccio).
Based in Barcelona, and opening its doors on September 6, this subsidiary will aim to gain customers directly in the retail sector, as well as indirectly in the small businesses and restaurants sector.
To validate the proper adaptation of its software to local standards and uses, the company has been equipping various beta tester clients in Spain since January, who use its solutions on a daily basis. Various technical and commercial partnerships are also being built with the Spanish entities of Samsung, Ingenico, Verifone, and other specialists in collection and electronic banking.
Spain: a country in full digital transformation, with more than a million businesses
With more than 800,000 retail businesses and nearly 300,000 bars and restaurants on its territory, Spain represents a colossal market potential. In recent years, Spanish companies have accelerated their digital shift by developing their online sales channels (e-commerce and marketplaces) and digitalizing in-store purchasing journeys (clienteling, terminals, Order in Store, etc.). Designed with an omnichannel approach, LUNDI MATIN’s software will allow these companies to manage their various online and in-store profit centers from a single solution, thus optimizing their internal management and developing new purchasing paths.
A law on the certification of cash register systems under study
Initiated at the start of 2020 and postponed due to the health situation, discussions are currently underway in Spain to legislate on the obligation for merchants and restaurateurs to equip themselves with certified payment software, with the aim of fighting against VAT fraud. Entering into force at the start of 2018 in France, this regulatory obligation pushed the majority of French merchants and restaurateurs to renew their cash register system, in particular to avoid the dissuasive fines set by law (€7,500 per software or non-certified cash register system) .
Certified NF525 in France, LUNDI MATIN will be able to adapt more quickly to this new standard in order to be part of the first certified software on the Spanish market.
Benjamin Chalande, CEO of LUNDI MATIN: “Omnichannel is a strategic issue for Spanish retailers”
“In Spain and Latin American countries, we are seeing exponential use of new connected payment methods (contactless cards, QR Code payments, etc.). This strong development then makes traditional cash registers obsolete and leads to the emergence of innovative systems, adapting perfectly to these new payment methods. Omnichannel has also become a strategic issue for retailers, who aim to maintain their market shares coveted by e-commerce giants. For these reasons, we are convinced that the added value of our software (mobility, omnichannel, innovative payments) will convince many end customers and Spanish distributors.”
Lionel Perrin, General Manager Spain “Our growth through the conquest of international markets”
“In addition to gaining market share in France, our growth necessarily involves conquering new international markets. This first subsidiary in Spain will aim to recruit distributors to address the “mass market”, namely independent traders and restaurateurs, and to market our solutions directly to store networks and large retailers. Having a Spanish version will also open doors for us in the coming years to launch an indirect strategy in Latin America.”
