What is the NF525 ?
The NF525 is a certification created by AFNOR. An NF525 certified cash register meets the specifications established by the organization. The NF Cash register software certification guarantees the design, correct operation, installation, ease of use, compliance and reliability of the LM Retail software.
What does the law say about the certification of cash register software?
Since the 1st of January 2018, all traders subject to VAT must be equipped with a secure and certified cash register software. In the event of an audit, you must therefore be able to demonstrate that your cash register system complies with the regulations and meets “conditions of inalterability, security, conservation and archiving of data”.
What are the risks in the event of non-compliance with NF525?
In the event of an inspection, if you are unable to present a certificate proving the compliance of your cash register software, you risk a fine of €7,500 per non-certified software or cash register system, together with an obligation to equip yourself within 60 days.
Issuance of the NF Cash register software certificate
You can attest to the good conformity of your cash register either by means of a certificate issued by an accredited organization, or by an individual attestation issued by the publisher.
